MTB Routes and Trails

There is something for every type of mountain biker in the Pueblo area. From the beginner to the expert, you can find just about any type of trail in the 70 miles of trails immediately surrounding Pueblo.
"Lake Pueblo State Park is this region's gem, with almost 40 miles of singletrack that swirl around mesa tops and descend into steep arroyos; Hubersberger considers the riding here a Fruita of the Front Range, and the largely butter-smooth, twisty singletrack is good enough to back up that bold comparison. Hardtails and XC bikes are perfect for most of the trails, but on routes like Bones and Steep Tech, you'll encounter shaley rock gardens and sizeable airs. Pueblo is also a good bet in winter because it gets less snow than a lot of the state; conversely, The city's thick clay soil is unrideable peanut butter when wet." -- Bicycling Magazine
South Shore trails includes 37.6 miles of single and double track trails in the prairie south of the marina and up on the plateaus. There are easy, intermediate and expert level trails in this area.
North Shore trails includes 10 miles of single track trails in Department of Wildlife areas. Additional trails lie west closer to Swallows Road.

Pueblo West trails over 30 miles of dirt utility roads and multi-use trails lie under power lines and along drainage easements. These trails are for non-motorized use except for authorized vehicles.
