Beginner & Family Friendly Bike Trails in Canon City

The Arkansas Riverwalk Trail, extending through Tunnel Drive. "The Riverwalk Trail follows the beautiful Arkansas River through town, winding its way from the stunning cliffs of the exit of the Royal Gorge, past local parks, the train station, and countryside. Only two blocks from Main Street, the Riverwalk is a wider trail finished with crusher fines to accommodate casual walkers, bicyclists, and is perfect for families."

The Greenhorn Trail, located in the Hogbacks Open Space Park "Your experience on the Greenhorn Trail will treat you to a local beautiful geologic wonder known as the Dakota Ridge Hogback Formation. The Dakota Ridge Formation still contains trace fossils as well as evidence of its dinosaur past. Less than two miles one-way, this wider crusher-fine trail connects with others in the area to broaden your experience."

Graneros Trail, located in the Hogbacks Open Space Park "A fun beginner's trail, Graneros is flowy as it winds along the flank of the Dakota Ridge formation in the Hogbacks. With few technical aspects, the singletrack trail is mostly composed of clay soils. Please stay off when wet; thank you!"

Fracture Trail, located at the Oil Well Flats Trail System "The newest addition to the Oil Well Flats trail system, the Fracture trail is a flowy, novice trail experience that will delight experienced riders as well. Connecting with other intermediate trails within the system, beginning riders on Fracture could be encouraged to expand their biking skill-set with these nearby trails."
